It was 90 degrees Fahrenheit today and I got irritated. I was all dressed in a cardigan just a few days ago. Now, I'm quite familiar with the ebb and flow of seasonal changes but I just cannot help having a maniacal and enthusiastic feeling for cooler temps. I need to remind myself of that sweet lady in the church lunch line who demanded that I, a young, plump and eager dessert-line-cutting-monster-child remember, "Patience child! Patience is a virtue!"
Indeed it is church lady. Indeed it is.
Though the temperature may be stifling and oppressive at 90 degrees, my heart is settling in quite pleasantly at 70. I am ready to absorb all things Autumnal. Come with me now as we craft our way into a cardigan.
Gather:
1. Red and green/brown lentils
2. White glue
3. Black and white construction paper
Create:
1. Lay white construction paper down and outline a pumpkin shape with the glue. Create vertical lines with the glue. Use the black construction paper to create a Jack-O-Lantern. Outline the pumpkin shape, then add triangles and a mouth. Fill in with glue.
2. Add the red lentils! Dump them on and shake around! Dump them off! It helps to collect them with a plate or other container.
3. Use glue to create the stem. Add green or brown lentils and repeat step 2.
