Pining Hearts Ornaments

You like my title? It's completely dramatic. But isn't that what Valentine's Day is all about? Drama. Love. And ridiculous amounts of unnecessary consumerism. Listen. Don't buy your loved ones anything. Rather, make them something; from natural materials, without creating waste. Show them how much you love them by being conscious of your choices and how they affect others. Because really, what is that plastic thing anyway?

Moving on. (Thanks for sticking around through that dramatic moment.)

Gather:

*Pine cones

*Hot glue/gun

*Paint

*Yarn

*Optional: Poms, glitter, doodads

Create:

1. Lay your pine cones down next to each other at the narrowest part of the pine cone or where the stem is, generally. Hot glue those points together. Let dry.

2. Bend the top of each pine cone in towards each other to form a heart. Glue. This may require multiple shaping and gluing attempts to get the shape you are looking for.

3. Paint and adorn as desired! Let dry.

4. Wrap yarn around the heart, if desired. Tie a piece of string to the top of the yarn to create a loop for hanging.

Have a gorgeous day! Be sure to check out all of our other pine cone ideas!
